And after the party…
…is another party. Attending the #1 event in DC, Fashion for Paws? See you there. And don’t forget, the official after party is at my favorite DC bar, George! (Pictured – newsletter for George…from F4P!)
Keep calm, and party on for the pups.
So Tough. So Cute.
Semper Fido!
PFC Legend, the new mascot at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., scopes his newly issued M164A4 service rifle Nov 7 at the depot armory. The English bulldog puppy arrived this fall, replacing Sgt. Archibald Hummer, who died in September.
Legends handler, LCpl. Michael Rogers, is just out of view of the photo. The pup sat on the Marine’s head in order to reach the table.
Love Midway!
I had the honor of lighting the Midway Christmas Tree in beautiful downtown Midway.
Thank you to Mayor Bozart and everyone else for being SO welcoming! They event treated me to a delicious dinner at Tavern 815 afterwards! If you’ve never been to Midway, Ky, put this quaint, adorable town on your must-see list. The people are so wonderful! Downtown is charming and the food can rival with some of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! Visit Meet Me In Midway for more info! And like their Facebook page!
Grilling For Good: Recap!
Well, I didn’t give anyone food poisoning (that I know of) and we managed to raise some money for a great cause: The Lexington chapter of the American Diabetes Association.
Yours truly and Bill Meck wielded the grilling tools (that looked like samurai swords) with flair!
Thanks to the ADA for allowing Bill and I to help raise money for this great cause!
28 Years Later: The Beirut Bombing Anniversary
Some call it the beginning of the war on terror: The 1983 Beirut Bombings. On October 23rd in Beirut, Lebanon, a suicide bomber drove into the Marine Corps Barracks and blew them up.Today is the 28th anniversary of that day, when 220 Marines, 18 sailors & 3 Army soldiers were killed. It’s also where my dad was when I was born. Thankfully, he was not inside the barracks. Here’s a picture of my dad from his time in Beirut.
Congrats Miss Lori!
She’s almost a mommy! We celebrated her pregnancy and her son, Jackson, at a baby shower this weekend. Isn’t she so beautiful?!
The shower was filled with ‘aws’ and ‘ohs’ per usual, but the woman behind the shower had a few ideas I found interesting enough to pass along. In addition to the silly games (measuring mommy’s tummy, guessing baby food,) there was also a random question read aloud throughout the night…i.e.: “What 1 quality do you hope your son has?” “What are you most nervous about giving birth?” And so on… All the girls in attendance also signed a beautiful ceramic-lined mirror with an adjective to describe the mommy-to-be. Then, when the future mom opened that person’s gift, they read aloud the word and explained why they wrote it and how they believe it will help her be a great mom. Cute idea!
And congrats Lori!
