Thrift Shopping For the Lazy

I love a good find. Whether it’s the perfect dress in the unlikely shop, the great story in a hopeless situation, or a fabulous piece in an old general store in rural Kentucky. Problem is, I’m not always motivated to go digging through rubble.

Thanks to One Kings Lane – the finds are at my finger tips. I’m obsessed with Rue La La, Gilt Groupe and Rent the Runway. Now, decorating my home is as easy as a click. Best part – these trendy pieces are deeply discounted.

Countdown to Derby!

With Keeneland here – spring is in the air…and the Kentucky Derby is less than a month away! LEX18 goes all out for our award-winning Derby coverage. And the plan is here!

I’m on celebrity beat – asking the important question – “what are you wearing?!”

In preparation for Derby – the wonderful ladies at Bella Rose are helping me pick out dresses for the big day! I’ll be covering the Barnstable Browns party the night before, the exclusive party attended by celebrities! For that party – I’m choosing between these two dresses…

And for Derby – these are my options.

But the most important part of the Derby – is of course, the hat. The shops at Keeneland are topping off my outfit with a fabulous piece from Christine Moore Millinery! This is a sample of the one I’ll be wearing…

Fantastic Fitness Find.

My love for Lululemon is no secret. The fabulous-fitting fitness gear is enough to get me off my tush and into the gym Seriously, if you look good, you are more active. And lulu makes me feel downright tremendous.

Now, there’s even more reason to love Lulu. Silverescent. Silver – yes silver – is actually woven into the fabric. Why? Silver keeps the stink out! I’m serious. After a 90-minute Pure Barre Cardio session – my clothes were drenched in sweat. But my stench, not stinky in the slightest.  More about silverescent here. 

Is it summer yet?

So when I left work last night and saw this…

…I was not thrilled. It’s no secret how I feel about the snow. I’m a summer-kind-of-gal. Even more so, I’m so looking forward to running outside in the sunshine…especially since I have these new adorable running shorts from STX!  So for now, I’ll just have to wear them in the gym. While you’re holed up inside on this snow day, make sure you check out STX’s new women’s line. The shorts I just got in the mail are really cute and light-weight, perfect for sunshine-filled runs! …If we ever get there…

Shop for Good!

Kentucky friends! This Christmas, head to the Lexington Humane to do your Christmas shopping! Yes they have oodles of adorable puppies, kitties, big dogs, little dogs, cats, bunnies etc… But they also have a special Holiday Shop with toys and presents galore! And not just for your four-legged friend, the shop is filled with cute little outfits for children, deco for the home, and tons of other great gifts. Best part? Everything there benefits the Humane Society!

I love when businesses donate proceeds of sales to charity! Makes me want to shop there even more. The retail giant Forever 21 is doing just that — with their ASPCA collection.  F21 is donating $1 of each item of the Give to Love. Love to Give collection to the ASPCA. But hurry—the deadline for this is December 9th!
